Please read this Notecard completely.

The update, the last part of the server migration process, is necessary to allow your cats to communicate 'directly' with the new server and get them completely off the old server.

Get the Latest V1.44 Updater at CAT-HQ, here 􀀁

------- We just (August 26, 2020) put out a new latest version of the Updater V1.44.  It will say 1.1 in the description line on edit, if you look.    There was a tiny omission in the first Updater -- Part of our Update was to increase the number of characters possible in naming your cats; well, this worked for live cats, but not for shells/kitten.  That has been adjusted.   So please discard your old Updater v1.44 and use the brand new at HQ.

In a little while we will come out with a way for you to adjust the shells/kittens you had already updated....working on it :) -----------

Using the UPDATER:   Rez out the Updater provided.

A large light blue shadow circle is shown.

We ask that you test your Updater initially with just a couple cats, to make sure it is functioning properly for you and that your sim is working properly too.

Then you can do batches of up to 30 cats/kittens/shells at a time.

Please put up to 30 shells or cats in the circle for updating.

Click the Updater,  choose 'Kittens (shells)' or 'Cats' depending on what you put in the circle.    And wait.

Each one will be replaced with 1.44 versions.

And those are now fully on the new server and updated!

*Please know that when updating LIVE CATS they will come fresh out the server updated in kitten size.  This is normal, and it will take about an hour, but they will pop back to normal size.    The size will not have any effect on their breeding or dropping babies.

Not more than 30 cats/shells at a all.

The server may be overwhelmed with more requests than that, and kittens will be lost.

In local chat the Updater will show which kitties it has done.  You will see all their IDs.  If any do not appear for you, please note them in a NC and send to Nic to retrieve for you.

If all are finished and showing 1.44 but the Updater is saying 'please wait'  you can pick it up and put it back out.

Then on to the next batch.

We realize this could take some time.  That is why we have allowed two months.

** LIVE CATS will come out of the Updater little, kitten-size.  But they will function normally and will POP back to full size within an hour or so.

The 1.44 cats will need new bowls V3.   They cannot eat from the existing V2 bowls.

So please delete your old bowls using the bowls menu, so that the food/milk stored inside them goes back onto your account in the server.

GET NEW BOWLS with the Cat HUD v1.44 or at HQ.  There is a giver on the back wall :)

Old version 1.43 or earlier cannot eat from V3 bowls.

After using the Updater, you will notice that the cats and shells are now labeled a little differently.  We did that so that you could easily detect them in the server from the old.

Old v1.43 - Shells = 'Stray Cats Unborn Kitten - "

new v1.44 = "Stray Cats Kitten - "

for live cats, old v1.43 = 'Stray Cat - name '

new v1.44 live = 'Stray Cats - name '   (has an S)

You will notice a few little visible changes with this update.

    1.  You can now use up to 26 characters in naming your cats.

    2.  The pregnancy-pink color is now more defined and noticeable.

There is other stuff, but that is 'under the hood' allowing us abilities for future expansion.

-The old server will be maintained for 2 months to allow ample time for everyone to update their cats AND shells... ALL (including purrmanently yours).

-Effective turn-off date for the old server is: November 1, 2020.

You MUST have all shells and cats updated to 1.44 by November 1, 2020.   If you fail to do so, they could be lost completely.

ABOUT SPECIAL or FLOOK KITTIES:  For those of you that have 'special' server-burp kitties - those kitties that didn't come out quite right, that you wish to keep the mistake (lol), please take a clear screenshot please (so we can read the writing), with the cat and it's traits.

Write the cat's and your information and the screenshot link in a Notecard for us, so that we can 'recreate' the mistake for you, after the Update.

Please encourage your friends and anyone you know breeding or having our Cats, even that might have some from the past, to update.

As always, I am here to help in any way.

Love always,

General Manager of Stray Cats
